Draft and Parametric Studio
AI jewelry CAD, from a photo or a brief
Tashvi turns a ring photo, a sketch, or a sentence into a 3D model. Export STL for printing and casting, or STEP to keep working in Rhino, Matrix, or Fusion.
In short
- Draft turns any design image into a real-millimeter 3D mesh you can export as STL. Basic plan ($20 a month) and up.
- Parametric Studio (Beta) builds a ring as editable CAD from certified parts, checks it for casting, and exports STEP, STL, and GLB. Pro plan ($60 a month) and up.
- No CAD skills needed: describe a change in plain language and every version is kept.
Two ways into 3D
Draft
- What it does
- Image to 3D mesh
- Starts from
- A design image, a photo, or a render
- You get
- STL (real millimeters), PNG renders, share link
- You can change
- Quality level (Low, High, Max); ring size and band width on Max
- Plan
- Basic and up
- Best for
- A fast 3D model of any piece
Parametric Studio (Beta)
- What it does
- Photo or brief to ring CAD
- Starts from
- One ring photo, a sentence, or your own CAD file
- You get
- STEP, STL, GLB, and a spec sheet
- You can change
- Plain-language edits, plus Move, Rotate, Scale, Mirror; every version kept
- Plan
- Pro and up, desktop
- Best for
- Rings that are going to be cast

How a Parametric Studio build works
Step 1
Add the piece
Attach one clear photo of a ring, describe it in a sentence, or open your own file. Give the numbers a photo cannot show: ring size, centre stone size, band width.
Step 2
Watch it build
The process feed shows the reading of your photo (cut, setting, piece), the plan, the build, and the reviewer’s change orders. A plain band usually builds in a few minutes; detailed rings take longer.
Step 3
Check the spec sheet
Dimensions, ring sizes in four systems, metal weights by alloy, and a castability check: one closed solid, walls of at least 0.30 mm, stones seated.
Step 4
Edit and export
Change one thing per message, compare any two versions, restore any one. Export STEP for CAD, STL for printing, GLB for the web.
File formats
| Format | Supported | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| STL | Export and import | Print mesh for castable resin or wax |
| STEP | Export and import | Editable CAD for Rhino, Matrix, Fusion |
| GLB / glTF | Export and import | Web viewer and sharing |
| 3DM | Import | Rhino files |
| OBJ, 3MF | Import | Other 3D tools and printers |
STEP, GLB, and the spec sheet come from Parametric Studio. Draft exports STL and PNG.
What it builds best today
Rings. Bands, solitaires, and simple settings build most reliably, with ring size, band width, and stone size taken from your numbers. Halos and multi-stone rings are less reliable today: a build can drop stones or parts, so check every stone and wall on the spec sheet before casting.
For necklaces, earrings, and pendants, start with a Draft mesh. As with any CAD file, have your caster confirm wall thickness and stone seats for their process.
Questions jewelers ask
Can Tashvi export an STL for casting?+
Yes. Draft (Basic plan and up) exports a real-millimeter STL mesh from any design image. Parametric Studio (Pro plan and up, Beta) exports STL for printing castable resin, STEP for Rhino, Matrix, or Fusion, and GLB for the web, with a spec sheet listing dimensions, ring sizes, and metal weights.
What is the difference between Draft and Parametric Studio?+
Draft reconstructs a mesh from an image: the quickest route to a 3D model of any piece. Parametric Studio builds a ring as CAD from certified parts (bands, heads, halos, pavé shoulders), checks that it can be cast, and lets you edit it by asking in plain language or by hand. Use Parametric Studio when the piece is going to be cast.
Do I need to know Rhino or Matrix?+
No. You describe the piece or attach a photo, then change it in plain language ("make the band thinner", "change the centre to a 7 mm oval"). If you do use Rhino, Matrix, or Fusion, export STEP and keep working there.
What does a Parametric Studio build check?+
Every build is checked before it is handed over: one closed solid, no wall under 0.30 mm, and stones with seats. The spec sheet shows dimensions, ring sizes (US, UK, EU, JP), and metal weights by alloy.
What does it build best today?+
Rings. Bands, solitaires, and simple settings build most reliably. Halos and multi-stone rings are less reliable today: a build can drop stones or parts, so check every stone and wall on the spec sheet before casting. Necklaces, earrings, and pendants are better served by Draft meshes for now.
Can I bring my own CAD file?+
Yes. Parametric Studio opens STEP, STL, 3DM, OBJ, GLB, glTF, and 3MF files as version 1 of a piece. Draft opens STL, 3DM, OBJ, and GLB.
How much does it cost?+
Concept design is free with no card. Basic ($20 a month) adds Draft 3D meshes with STL export. Pro ($60 a month) adds Parametric Studio CAD (Beta). Builds use credits as they work. See the pricing page for current limits.
